Harry, Harriette, and Blairiette

I have been watching my brother's kids this week. Olivia is 4 and has these three friends, Harry, Harriette, and Blairiette. Umm, they aren't real. The funniest thing about it is that Mitch gets so jealous when her friends come over and his real friends can't. He wants them to have to go home. As a parent would you treat imaginary friends the same way? I don't know if I should let her just have them over whenever she wants, or if it is better to make them go home at all the same times when any real friends would have to. Anyway, I love Harry, Harriette, and Blairiette. They are actually some pretty well developed people. Blairiette has a baby, but hasn't named it yet. I'm excited to see what other name she can think of that goes with that sweet name trio she has going on already.

  1. I knew about Harriette, but not about the others. That's awesome!

  2. That is so hilarious! But sad that Mitchell gets jealous...

At least imaginary friends don't eat, don't need baths, and can't get into trouble!

  4. Well as the parent of Olivia, I think it is great, it uses her imagination all the time. They do have to go home though, especially when she has been mean. And they can only sleep over on weekends. They are considered"real" people, because even though we can't see them, she has a connection to them, and we respect that.
