Thanks!

When I was about fourteen I wrote a list of 101 things that I was thankful for. I printed it off and kept it in my scriptures. We had a FHE this week and showing gratitude was the topic. I couldn't find my list, but one thing that I remember from my original list was chapstick, I hate having dry and cracked lips. I'll admit that towards the end of my writing I began listing everything in my pockets, bedroom, or near proximity. But we really do have so much to be thankful for. I love the Holiday season but I think that it is odd that we dedicate one day to giving thanks, and the next day consumers wake up at 3:00 AM to flock to the stores, push and shove (and trample) only to get more. So I decided to write another list of things that I am thankful for, but I'm not promising 101 things. I am thankful for...

My husband. I am grateful that my husband's parents taught him to love his Heavenly Father and to build a relationship with Him. I am thankful that he has the priesthood and can bless our family. I am grateful that he has great friends that were able to share the gospel with him, and that he was able to recognize it's truth and be baptized. I am glad that he was able to serve a mission. I am grateful that we were able to be sealed as a family, and can be together forever. I am thankful for the peace that knowing that brings into my life. I am so thankful for the opportunity to be a mother and to be able to watch Addie as she learns and grows. I am thankful that she was able to come home from the hospital healthy and am thankful for the doctors and nurses that cared for her in the NICU. I am thankful for the leaders of the church and the prophet. I am thankful that we have always been provided for. I am thankful for the love and support of our friends, family, and neighbors. I am thankful for forgiveness. I can keep listing things but I feel like I am being a little redundant. As I am pondering the things that I am most grateful for I realize that they are not really "things" at all.
